2020 Juan de Fuca Festival Canceled

Like many other performance oriented organizations and events, JFFA currently finds itself in uncharted waters while coming to terms with the implications of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Unfortunately, this unpredictable situation has led us to make the extremely difficult decision to cancel the 27th Annual Juan de Fuca Festival planned for May 22-25, 2020.

The health and safety of our community, artists, festival fans, participants, sponsors and staff are paramount, and we urge everyone to follow the guidelines and protocols put forth by public health officials.

There is much to think about as we all try to reconfigure our lives for the next little while. As music lovers, you can appreciate how devastating this crisis is to our community, performing artists, vendors, community partners, sponsors, educators, etc. In reaction to social distancing mandates and shelter in place orders, performers are scrambling to keep their art alive and are now creating virtual distanced alternatives to the direct human contact we typically thrive on. More than ever, we are reminded of the importance and power of art, togetherness and collaboration.

The disappointment in this is real and felt by many. Don’t lose heart, though. Much like you, JFFA believes deeply in our community and recognizes that we are all in this together. We look forward to gathering and celebrating with you when we are on the other side of this challenging situation. Please rest assured that JFFA remains committed to the development and promotion of the arts for the cultural, economic, and educational benefit of Washington’s North Olympic Peninsula.

This is our commitment.
