Many historians claim that the Summer Jam at Watkins Glen, held in 1973, was the largest music gathering of people in the history of the United States.  Over 600,000 people attended, well over Woodstock’s 400,000.  This historic music festival featured just three legendary bands -The Band, the Grateful Dead and the Allman Brothers. Gabe Johnson, known as guitar for Funk/Rock outfit Elektrapod,  has now gathered together some of the very best musicians from the Central Oregon music scene with the intention of recreating some of the most authentic, inventive and compelling Rock n’ Roll music that ever lived. Standing firmly on the foundation of these historic rock bands, Watkins Glen reaches skyward to capture the magic that is improvisational Rock n’ Roll.  SUNDAY
