This is an eight-piece Soul/R&B/Funk/Blues band featuring a crisp horn section, a tight rhythm section and amazing four-part vocals. Influences for the band include everything from Aretha Franklin, Lenny Kravitz, Steely Dan, Jill Scott and Galactic. Given the competition, a band has to put on one heck of a show for The Oregonian to declare them “one of the best live bands in the Northwest.” But the Ken DeRouchie Band has earned that accolade and then some, building a devoted fan base with their party-starting mix of soul, R&B and funk. Vocals, bass, keys, guitar, drums and a “dash of brass” come together in a sound that’s fresh, but always funky. “Ken and his band bring it each and every night. Horns that moan and wail, guitars that grind and soothe and a rhythm section tighter than a frog’s ass.” (KINK FM Portland)  FRIDAY
