Ballet Workshop’s “The Nutcracker” returns as the annual family event of the holidays! This production features over 150 Olympic Peninsula ballet students, theater performers, and guest dance artists from professional companies .

This “Nutcracker’s” all-original staging is set in the great depression of Clallam County in 1895. Get ready to follow the adventure of young Marie and her brother, Frank, who are given a magical gift of a Nutcracker by their wealthy godfather, business tycoon Gregers M. Lauridsen, at their family’s Christmas Eve barn dance. Set to Tchaikovsky’s traditional Nutcracker score, this home-grown production will capture your heart as it pays tribute to the rich history of life on the Olympic Peninsula at the turn of the Civil War era.

Highly praised by Port Angeles critics and audiences for its comedic delight, locally crafted costumes, and beautifully hand-painted backdrops of the Olympic Mountains, this is a holiday evening you will want to enjoy with your entire family, young and old, for years to come.

JFFA and the Ballet Workshop have worked in partnership for the past five years to present beautifully staged story ballets that maintain the high standards found within the tradition of classical ballet. The Ballet Workshop is proudly celebrating its 50th anniversary this year which makes it the oldest ballet academy on the Olympic Peninsula.
