Curtis is the original Blues Brother.  After John Belushi caught one of Curtis’s typical, no-holds-barred performances, Belushi was inspired to create the Blues Brothers and modeled his character after Curtis (along with dedicating the first Blues Brother album, Briefcase Full of Blues, to Curtis).  Recognition for Curtis as the consummate bluesman has arrived — he swept the 2013 Blues Awards in Memphis, winning BB King Entertainer of the Year, Soul Blues Male Artist of the Year and Soul Blues Album of the Year. With 2017’s new CD, The Beautiful Lowdown, Curtis did it again – winning Best Male Blues Artist, Best Album and Best Song.  Curtis tours heavily, leaving fans excited and hungry for more wherever he plays. Reknowned as a solo artist, his long and storied career also includes stints as the lead singer for the Robert Cray Band, Roomful of Blues, Steve Miller and Santana.   “Always give it your best,” he says. “Be honest and be real. Treat every show like it’s the biggest night of your life.” “Triumphant, joyful blues-soaked R & B –one of the most soulful, honest singers ever.” (Blues Revue)  SUNDAY
