TREASURE ISLAND

Led by our very own Richard Stephens, this show is a great tale of “buccaneers and buried gold.” It’s also a great coming of age story. Treasure Island was a smashing success as part of JFFA’s Drama in the Schools Program. Scheduled last February, the show was presented to over 2,000 kids, kindergarten to 6the grade, at five local elementary schools. We are pleased to be able to present it at the Juan de Fuca Festival. HADASSAH GRACE

Hadassah grew up in Senegal, West Africa, and moved to Port Angeles, her father’s hometown, in 2014. She graduated at 18 from Peninsula College in June, 2016. She is currently studying Global Politics and French at Gardner-Webb University in North Carolina. She was invited to perform her original songs at the Juan de Fuca Festival of May 2016, by virtue of having won the Peninsula College talent show in February 2016. Hadassah enjoys composing music and poetry, singing with her sisters,and being involved in an a capella group at Gardner-Webb University. FRIDAY, SATURDAY

TWISTED ROOTS

Marty Kaler and Bob Lawrence-Markarian first played together more than 35 years ago. After their paths diverged for a few years, they reunited and found that the magic was still there. Developing their own style, Twisted Roots plays old and new tunes, featuring finger-style guitar, ukulele, banjo, Dobro, lap-steel guitar and humor.
